Often times, we are quick to rush to judgment and criticize someone else’s decision, action or situation. We are quick to share what someone should have done or speak negatively towards them. But it takes maturity to use wisdom and not say anything and to extend grace. One day, we may find ourselves in the same situation and we’ll want others to extend grace and compassion toward us.
Many times, we are quick to say what we would do in a given situation. However, we really don’t know how we would react if we were in a certain situation because it’s easy to say what we might do when we haven’t faced it before. If we could ever walk a mile in someone else’s shoes we might be less likely to judge. Next time, before you’re quick to judge, criticize or throw shade on someone, take a moment and think about your own life and the race set before you. We can’t afford to waste energy and time being critical of others.
My challenge to you is to encourage others and run your race. If you’re busy running your race, you won’t have time to judge others.
