If I stayed the science path I was on; I know without a shadow of a doubt that my research focus would be black women and fibroids.

I’m certain any person reading this blog today personally knows a black woman who has dealt with this health issue.

I have! My mom was in surgery for a hernia repair and an OB/GYN consult was called in due the size of her fibroids. They thought she was pregnant.

Over the next few weeks, I will share resources on how black women can advocate for themselves and this medical issue. Trust me, this information is needed.
