Leadership Lesson #14: It’s the Little Things

The simplest definition of leadership is influencing others to do something while working towards a common goal or agenda. In 2022, I’m focusing on becoming a better leader in all areas of my life. As I grow, I’m sharing lessons and stories along the way. Thanks for tuning in and I hope something I share resonates with you in your leadership (influence) journey.

Little things add up to make a big difference

Anyone can be average. Anyone can mow their lawn but it takes something special to mow, edge and do landscaping. Anyone can cook a meal but it takes something special to prepare a five-course gourmet meal. Anyone can read one book in a year but it takes someone special to read several books in a year. Anyone can host an event but it takes something special to provide a five-star experience for guests.

As a leader, it’s the little things that create memories and make an impact. Don’t fall into the trap of mediocrity. Set the bar high for those who follow you and for yourself. It takes just a little more effort, energy and planning to go from good to best.

Are there areas you have settled for good when you can go after best?

What do you need to do to go from your current level of success to the next level?

Are you ready to reach your fullest potential and empower others to do the same?
