It’s Black History Month!: Black boy companies Pt 1

Happy first day of Black History month!! This month I will highlight some black boy joy in celebration of my little one. I was going to focus on a historical context by researching black inventors, but I decided to go the black businesses owned/started by little black boys route instead. I think it’s important not only to support black owned businesses this month but also throughout the entire year. Make it a lifestyle!

Up first we have the popular tv sensation Moziah who founded Mo’s Bows.

With the help of his grandmother, a retired seamstress, and his mom who runs the business side of the company, Moziah handcrafts colorful bow ties and now other male accessories. They are based in Memphis, Tennessee and he is mentored by none other than Daymond John, who saw himself in little Mo as a black boy interested in the fashion world and raised by a single mother.

I can’t wait to get my little one his first bow tie from Mo’s Bows while supporting this family’s mission.
