What’s Happening Wednesday:

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Psalm 19:1.

That’s what I thought when i looked into the sky last night. The full moon was bright and shining. Slow-moving clouds took turns framing and even veiling her face. The moon seemed to be perched right over my rooftop. it reminded me that evidence of God’s lovingkindness is all around us.

Alice Walker wrote, ”I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don’t notice it. People think pleasing God is all God cares about. But any fool living in the world can see it always trying to please us back.”

I echo this sentiment. Before God created humankind, he created a place for us. He created an environment in which we could thrive. Everything we needed was already here. We just needed to find it and appreciate it.

When is the last time you literally stopped smelled the flowers? When is the last time you appreciated the beauty in each blade of grass? When is the last time you saw the color purple in nature?

All of creation reveals his glory. Every twinkling star and every gust of wind is a reflection of his grace. May you rest in that grace today.
