Everyone has a story. They come in all shapes and sizes but they all have value. I produce a weekly podcast and interview women who bravely and honestly share their stories. They share their obstacles and how they’ve overcome them. Many times, we find ourselves not wanting to share our story because of fear of rejection, guilt, shame or condemnation. Sometimes, we feel as though our story is boring or isn’t as good as the next person’s. But there is value in each of our stories.
The Lord brings us through challenges, adversity and hardship to mature us in our faith. It helps us grow and develop resilience. It makes us stronger. And by sharing what we’ve learned with others, we help them grow and become more resilient. Scripture tells us that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
The next time you feel ashamed about something you’ve overcome or fearful of sharing your story, think about the man or woman who needs to hear that you made it…so they too can make it.
