Eight years ago this month, I began writing a weekly blog with a group of writers called “the write addiction”. Every week for 8 years, I have written primarily inspirational articles that help people move forward in various areas. That’s over 400 articles! A few of them have turned into books that I’ve published. I committed to this project because I wanted to have an opportunity to consistently write and to perfect my craft. There have been many times when I wanted to give up or skip a week but I remembered the commitment I made to the group and to myself.
In life, we’ll always have opportunity to quit, abort the mission prematurely or get frustrated but there is something to be said for longevity. In a world where people jump from one thing to the next or try this job and then that one, there are times when you need to get settled and ride things out for the long haul until the Lord releases you from that assignment. Be faithful to your commitments and learn from the journey. Be careful not to jump ship at the first or second sighting of hardship. There’s a blessing in your commitment and faithfulness. Stay the course and run the race set before you!
