Invest in Yourself

When I was growing up, my parents required my siblings and I to read. On summer break when our friends were playing or taking a break from school, we had to read books and write book reports. Of course, we had time for fun, vacation and playing, but reading and learning were top priorities. I believe it was those early days of reading, studying various topics, writing and presenting information that instilled a desire for growth. Even now, I enjoy reading, writing and looking for opportunities to develop and see new things.

Investing in yourself is one of the best gifts you can give yourself. Learning a new skill, exploring a hobby, having reading goals, and going to school are just a few ways you can invest in yourself. There are a ton of free resources available too if you’re willing to look around. Networking with others enlarges your sphere of people who may be able to help you. Everyone has a story and resources that can assist you on your journey.

Commit time each week to investing in your purpose. Set aside time to read, travel, attend a workshop, or meeting others for coffee. You never know where these investments will take you.
