Once again, we’ve started our family garden. I am always amazed at the process of gardening. We planted strawberries last summer but they didn’t produce much. This year, the seeds were still in the ground from last year, and the strawberries have started growing.
The gardening process involves planting seeds, nourishing those seeds and eventually producing fruit or vegetables. Our strawberries are not ripe yet. They’re still very small and green but with sun, water and time, they’ll soon be ready to eat.
Life is much like a garden. We plant seeds into our lives every day through our relationships, work, and activities. Once those things are planted, they become rooted or a part of our lives and eventually produce fruit. There’s a sequence to all of this but the key is to plant what we want to reap.
- What would you like to reap?
- What means the most to you at this moment?
- Are you planting seeds that get you closer to your harvest?
Galatians 6:7-9 (NLT)
7 Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. 8 Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. 9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
