What constitutes a perfect day? Maybe it’s waking up to birds chirping or getting a fresh cup of coffee. Maybe it’s knowing your children are healthy and taken care of. Maybe it’s the day you marry your best friend. Maybe it’s resting in the knowledge knowing your retirement is secure. The perfect day can be many different things. But those visions can also be interrupted at a moment’s notice. What happens when life throws us a curve ball? How do we react?
We can’t choose what happens to us but we CAN choose how we react to it. Choosing to make the best out of each of life’s lessons is a good posture to have.
What can I learn from this situation? How can I pick up the pieces and move forward? How can I trust that something good will come out of this? How can this part of my journey bring meaning and purpose?
I encourage you that next time your day doesn’t go as “perfectly planned”, take a step back and find something in the moment that you are grateful for.
