I gotta give credit where credit is due this morning. I woke up and started my Monday routine of coffee, breakfast prep and NPR and after getting a pulse of the top headlines. Then I moved on to scanning my top social media highlights and low and behold my mayor blessed me with a gem this cold February morning.
In case y’all didn’t know, Mayor Frank Scott, Jr., in the midst of all his other responsibilities, has been dropping Little Rock Black History nuggets for our viewing enjoyment. Well this morning he landed one that I didn’t know and I’m super excited about it!

Many people operate under the false narrative that Black wealth building and community development are largely new things for African Americans. Stories like this one are evidence that despite significant obstacles Black folks have an amazing capacity to excel and thrive.
