Transformative Thursdays: Tell Your Story

Mark 5:19-20 says, “
19 But Jesus said, “No, go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.” 20 So the man started off to visit the Ten Towns of that region and began to proclaim the great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed at what he told them.”

Each of us has a story. The backstory in this passage is this man was instantly healed by Jesus from demonic possession. For years, this man had lived in caves and was mentally impaired. Everyone knew this story. But after Jesus healed him, this man wanted to leave his town and go with Jesus. Jesus told him to stay where he was, go home and share what had happened to him.

Many times we are quick to run away from sharing our story or testimony of where we’ve come from. But there is great significance and importance in telling others what we’ve gone through, what we’ve learned and who we need to thank. It’s often more comfortable to go along with someone else for the ride and not have to share. But someone is waiting on your story for their encouragement, motivation, deliverance or healing.

What is your story?

Are you willing to share it?
