What’s Happening Wednesday: A Time to Pray

If you’ve spent any time on social media in the past few years, you have run into a conspiracy theory or two. They run the gamut from utterly ridiculous to completely plausible.

This pandemic has brought these conspiracy theories to a new level. People are sitting at home with nothing to do, and many have been sucked into believing the things they see on the internet. In some cases, this is funny. In others, it’s frightening.

I have watched reasonable people fall prey to the nonsense they have read on the internet. They swallow foolishness wholeheartedly and spew it back out to the world as if it were proven fact.

None of us are immune, but there are things we can do to protect ourselves.

Jude tells us to build ourselves up by praying. Paul tells us to put on the whole armor of God, and pray. The Holy One himself says to pray and seek His face.

Prayer is always in order. Prayer is always appropriate, and prayer changes things. If you’re not praying, now would be a good time to start.
