A few weeks ago, we planted a garden in our backyard. We have been patiently waiting to see fruit and vegetables. We know the seeds are growing and something is happening because we have leaves. We are seeing other people’s gardens bearing vegetables already. It’s so tempting to get impatient and give up or begin to think we must have done something wrong. But with all things, there’s a process. There’s a time for planting, a time for waiting and a time for harvest.
Don’t get discouraged in your season of waiting. It doesn’t mean that what you’re working towards will not happen. Nor does it mean that you did anything wrong. Resisting the urge to compare our garden to someone else’s garden or to stop mid-stream can be difficult.
Be encouraged the harvest will come. Use your time of waiting and nourishing to be prepared. What will you do when the harvest comes? There will be work required to pick the fruit and to use it (or can it) before it goes bad.
Be patient and don’t give up on your garden. The harvest is coming!
