When was the last time you allowed yourself to dream? When was the last time you allowed yourself to conjure up images of places you wanted to go, people you wanted to meet, things you wanted to do?  Dreaming allows our mind to “see” and visualize where we want to go.  Without having a dream, the dream will never materialize.  We must first see where we want to be. The clearer the vision, the more powerful the results.

Several years ago, I envisioned our teen mentoring organization taking a trip from Kosciusko, Mississippi to Los Angeles, California.  Through that vision, the seed was birthed which gave way to me setting goals and making connections to see it happen.  After months of planning, we flew nearly 20 teens and several parents to LA for an experience of a lifetime.

Many, many years ago as a teen, I envisioned myself married to a firm Believer who would love me for who I am and the children we would have. I specifically remember saying we would have a “perfect” marriage—one of love and joy. Over 20 years later, I am married to the love of my life and our marriage is “perfect” for us!

I remember working on my MBA degree and seeing myself running an organization. I could see myself working with a team of people and making decisions. Over the years, I’ve been in various career positions where I have been in supervisory or leadership positions.

Everything starts with the seed of a dream. If you want to do something, you must first see it. Take a moment and dream about your future. It doesn’t matter if you’re 15 or 55. You should still be dreaming and reaching for something. What o you want your tomorrow to look like? It starts with today’s dream. That’s the power of a dream.
