I’ve been reluctant to share my feelings about COVID-19 and what has become our new reality. I was reluctant because so many people are grumbling and complaining about not being able to go to the salon, or having to wear a mask at certain places or feeling as though their freedom is being taken away.
I don’t fault anyone for his/her opinion, but I’ve taken a step back and asked myself “what have I missed from what was”? And I truly have not missed much. I am enjoying the freedom of not feeling pressured to go to this activity or that commitment because they don’t exist. I am enjoying the additional free time that has provided and allowed us as a family to be together more. I am enjoying less traveling and commuting places because so many meetings are now virtual. I have enjoyed watching church at home with my family.
This reality may be uncomfortable for some but I am learning to find the good in everything. I am not willing to rush back into the crazy rat race of what had become life for many of us. I’m taking time to just “be”.
I hope you’ll take a few moments and think about what you are learning in this season. Think about the gift that has been given to us of a “reset”. Think about what is truly important and valuable to you. I hope you can create a long list of happy memories and life lessons gathered along this journey!
