This year I’ve been having a particularly hard time with doing push-ups. I decided that I needed to start doing them more and to work on my form so that I can improve. And since I’m at home more I have more time to practice.
I have to remind myself to use the same approach to overcoming other obstacles as I am doing for push-ups. When I’m faced with an obstacle, instead of giving up, I have to develop a plan to tackle it one step at a time. If I make progress through continued practice one day at a time then I am more likely to accomplish my goals.
Growing up I was always taught that practice makes perfect, but now as an adult I’ve learned that “perfect” is impossible but I can make attainable goals and achieve them.
So now I practice to overcome obstacles and to reach goals.
