Transformative Thursdays: Persistence Gets Results

In life, we face a myriad of situations. Many of them require persistence to get through them. A “no” can lead you to the next “yes”.  What seems to be failure can teach us a lesson. Resilience built from consistent perseverance builds strength.  Persistence clarifies our true desires.

Things will not always fall into place easily or quickly but we can be assured that if we persist, we will reach our goal. One of the greatest temptations is to give up.  Usually  right before the goal comes to pass, the temptation to quit can be the greatest. Resist the urge to stop. Keep going.

When I ran a marathon several years ago, I was tempted to give up around mile 15.  My knee began hurting and I thought I couldn’t finish. I forced myself to push through the pain and discomfort and finished the last 11 miles.  I persevered because I ad a greater desire to finish than quit. I had invested too much time and resources not to finish.

Is there something you started but didn’t finish? Did the pain of the process lead you to give up? Have uncertainties and insecurities caused you to quit? Brush yourself off and start again. It’s never too late to finish.
