Have you ever looked at a beautifully manicured lawn in which the grass was lush and green? The edges along the curb were neatly trimmed. You could even see neat lines in the lawn where it had been meticulously cut. As an added bonus, there was beautiful landscaping in front of the house with pretty flowers and shrubbery.
Contrast this with a lawn in which the grass is all different shades of green and weeds are sprinkled throughout. There are yellow dandelions sporadically poking through the grass and the edges along the curb are not well trimmed. There are no beautiful flowers and there isn’t a reason to take special notice of this yard.
Our lives can be like those lawns. Weeds can creep in before we realize it and take over lives. Weeds distract us from our purpose. Weeds keep us from living our best lives. Weeds take away from the natural beauty God has created within us.
What weeds have crept into your life? If weeds are not uprooted, they will pop up in your life in ways you can’t imagine. Take a moment and consider if distractions, bitterness, fear, anxiety, jealousy, manipulation or other weeds have crept in. If so, take hold of them & uproot them. Once the weeds are gone, you will have a beautiful life filled with purpose.
