Change can be a difficult thing. Most people don’t like change and quickly settle into routine. Being comfortable is preferred to experiencing the ups and downs of change. However, if you want to achieve something new or different, change is required. I recently started a new job and there was a learning curve. I had to learn the language, the work culture, the personalities of my teammates and how to do what was required of me. Change is a good thing. It allows us to grow and develop new skills. But we must be willing to go through the process of change.
In this new year, I’m sure there are many things on your “to-do list”. There are some boxes you want to check off. But each of them will require work and effort. They may require you to go through a process of change. You will be tested and may even want to quit. But if you truly want something, you’ll do what is required to achieve it.
Remember, nothing will change this year unless you first change. Determine you are willing to change and the things you most want to achieve are worth the effort. You can do it and you will be more fulfilled once you’ve experienced the process of change.
What is one goal you are working towards? What change will it require of you?
