I started a new position recently and I was reminded of all that comes with learning a new job. It can be overwhelming but taking it one step at a time and practicing the required tasks makes it easier. With increased practice you get better and faster and more efficient. Surprisingly, your confidence level increases too.
I’ve been watching my 5-year old learn how to tie his shoes. At first he got frustrated because he wanted to do it fast and he couldn’t quite get it down. But as he practiced, he got better and the frustration went away.
Many times when we are pursuing our dreams, we don’t want to practice or rehearse tasks. We just hope it magically happens with little effort. But any achievement we reach will be the result of hard work, perseverance and practice. Don’t be afraid to practice until you get it done with ease and the fulfillment comes.
