Have you ever thought about how close you might actually be to your dream? A few weeks ago, my goal was to run 8 miles. As I started running and got closer to eight miles, the fatigue took over. Mentally, I shut down and all I could think about was getting back home whether I got to 8 miles or not. I couldn’t muster enough energy to press through to run 8 miles. So I stopped at 7.36 miles. If I had run 7 or 8 more minutes, I could have finished my goal. I stopped too short. A few hundred more steps would have led me to victory.
How many times have we stopped short of our goal? A few more tries. Another ask. One more phone call. One more application. One more conversation. One more hug. One more prayer.
The keys to winning in life are drive, dedication and discipline. Your drive and passion lead to dedication. But it takes discipline to remain dedicated when challenges arise.
What is your passion? What is driving you to succeed?
What are you dedicated to? What do you spend most of your time doing?
Are you disciplined in getting things done? What level of consistency do you have?
Push yourself to keep going. Take the next step even if it’s uncomfortable. Let your drive, dedication and discipline chart your course to victory! You may be one step away! You got this.
