I have done some pretty nutty things in the name of having an epic experience and this weekend was no exception. Five o’clock Friday saw Terrance and I do our best impression of Bonnie and Clyde (minus the illegal activity) and book it over to Texas.
See, my husband won hubby of the year by surprising me with tickets to Hamilton the Musical for Christmas. The tickets were for the show in San Antonio because it was the closest one to us during a time we could get away.
We came up with the idea that we’d base ourselves out of South Dallas so we could break up the 17 hour round trip drive.
We made sure we arrived early and tried out a new spot down near the theater, The Medina River Coffee Shop.
That sandwich was called, Sexy, by the way (and it was). I also enjoyed the watermelon lemonade they served up.
Then it was on to the line.
We were actually wrapped around the corner. Even the locals started questioning why the line was so extreme. That line put NYC Time Square to shame. Though we really appreciated the $10 flat rate for parking in the deck next to the theater. We did start to worry a little bit when we were still outside waiting to clear security 10 minutes before the show was to start.
But we made it in.
Yes, I am still celebrating being in the room where it happened!
Yes, I am still hoping that one day I won’t have to drive quite so far to see shows like Hamilton but until then… βοΈππππ²ππΏββοΈ
