Transformative Thursdays: Do It Afraid

first step

Several years ago, Joyce Meyer wrote a book called Do It Afraid. There are rarely ever times when we won’t be required to do something in the midst of fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of rejection, fear of failure and fear of not measuring up may all grip us at times. However, we must make a commitment to do it afraid.

Taking the first step is usually the most difficult, but also many times, the most rewarding. We are usually hoping and waiting for all of our lights to be on green before we begin the journey. But many times the only green light is the first one. Faith is necessary to step out and go through the first light believing that by the time we reach the second light, it will be green.

Stepping into the unknown starts with knowing who you are and having a vision for where you are going, but it doesn’t stop there. It requires you to be courageous and face fear by taking the first step! Do it afraid. As you continue going through the lights, each step gets easier and your momentum increases. Don’t allow fear to hold you back. You can do it afraid!
