(Disclaimer: The following post is intended for all those folks out there who are insanely obsessed with ALL things MARVEL. Reader discretion is advised.)
I am sure that many of you are like me when it comes to stalking the internet for hints of what is to come in the MCU. After years of waiting we finally got the Black Panther movie we deserved and now, Captain Marvel. I am still digesting that experience so I’ll have to give my breakdown on that later, but I do have something we need to talk about now.
Where is our Storm?
Seriously, we’ve taken several flights to Wakanda and y’all, I love me some Nakia, but we ALL know that T’Challa marries Ororo so with Black Panther 2 I am ready to see them advance the real story of what happens to Nakia and I know that Lupita is gonna give us a MALICEous performance. If any of y’all know Ryan Coogler please let him know I’d happy make time to be on the writing team for that story!
But back to business. It’s time for T’Challa and Ororo to reunite so they can get married and we can have our royal Wakandan wedding event.
I don’t think the world is ready for the level of turn up that will result from that event.
Now in order for this to happen a few things have to get straight. Now that all of the Marvel works are under the same umbrella, Storm’s character development needs to be turned over to the Marvel Studios crew and the character needs to be recasted by the dream team that handled the Black Panther casting. This actress has got to be able to stand toe to toe with Chadwick’s T’Challa and I have a few ideas…
My first encounter with Freema was in her role as a Companion on Doctor Who and I think she could bring a cool energy to the Storm persona.
This woman has been giving me life for the last two years in her role as Commander Michael Burnham on Star Trek Discovery. I could definitely get behind her as Storm.
Special thanks to one of my mentees for suggesting that Yetide Badaki be added to this list. Though I am not as well versed in her work, what I have seen of her performance in American Gods makes me think she could bring us something special as Storm.
Who do you all think should be cast opposite Chadwick’s T’Challa as the next Queen Consort of Wakanda?
