On Thursday, February 7, 2019 my husband and I had an opportunity to be a part of history in that we were at an event sponsored by Stacey Abrams, the next ______?  Now let me be clear, I don’t normal get all excited about meeting people that may be classified as celebrity status but if I did, she would be one of the few.  There is only one other person that impresses me on this level (maybe a little higher) and that is  First Lady, Michelle Obama.  Now President Obama was and shall forever be my President but in the category of a woman who exudes class beyond measure . . . Michelle Obama fits the bill. Nevertheless, Stacey Abrams is clearly cut from the same idealogical cloth.

The Stacey Abrams Thank you Tour came to town and I do believe that those who were setting up underestimated the number that would be in attendance.  People showed up and were ready to go knock on doors, make phone calls, address letters right then and there.  She is definitely a charismatic speaker that excites most people.  For me, you can be as charismatic as you like but if you have nothing to say, just get somewhere and sit down please?  In the case of Abrams, she not only had something to say, but she gave us the precursor to her next moves.  I am not one to get all  glassy eyed over anyone that is not family, but I will say that it fills my heart with joy to see and hear someone who looks like me, sounds like me, and dresses like I do.  The only missing is the Fedora.  She is extremely relatable.

Well, that is all of the gushing that I can stand but just as my father was thrilled to see the first African American President before he passed from this life and my mother elated to see a woman who carried herself in a manner oozing with dignity before she made her transition, I too am thankful for this historic moment.  Let’s get ready to fight for a FAIR FIGHT!!!!
