Well, this has been a busy week already. The original plan was to rest before beginning my new position but we ALL KNOW that plans don’t always go the way we plan. I won’t go into the details but let’s just say that rest was not accomplished this week. People make New Year’s resolutions and attempt to start them in week one of a new year. People begin school in the first week of a new year. People move into a new year filled with renewed hope and joyful anticipation. The one thing that people are not looking forward to in a new year is being fired. WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THAT????? “Happy New Year. You’re Fired!” Again I ask. WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THAT??? WE CAN’T LAY DOWN AND DIE.
Instead of one of us starting a new chapter. . . two of us will. It only takes ONE mistake, in some cases, to cost you your job. No matter how spotless your work record or strong your work ethic is, YOU CAN BE FIRED. I live in an “at will” state and explanations are not necessary.
There are many experiencing the pain of the Government Shutdown. There are others who have been fired. There are folks who don’t know from one day to the next what lies around the corner in their lives. Thankfully, the Lord has kept us to this point in time and I am determined to trust Him, come what may, because . . . “I have never seen the righteous forsaken, nor His seed begging bread.”
