Christmas usually finds The Youngbloods either in a car or on a plane hopping here and there to spend as much time with family as possible which is a rare and precious treat for us. Two years ago whilst bored out of my skull, I arranged this little gem which popped back up in my Facebook feed today. I thought I’d share it here for those of you who empathize. Fortunately, this year we are hosting so for once we get to stay still.

Twas Two Days Before Christmas

Twas 2 days before Christmas,

so you know what that means,

time to pack up the car for

a road trip it seems 🚗.

From the wilds of West Texas

we begin our long drive,

ducking and dodging semis 🚛

tryna stay alive. 🕺🏽

While many are cooking 👨🏾‍🍳

for Christmas day feasting 🍽,

we are eating up road, 🛣

some might say we were speeding 😏.

So for those like us who live far away

from family dear 🗺,

Merry Christmas 🎅🏿🤶🏾, drive safe, and may your roads stay clear!
