We are one week out from Thanksgiving and I’m starving. It’s not that I don’t have food in the fridge. It’s not that i’m too cheap to buy myself lunch. (Okay, that actually is part of it.) Heck, we still have a box full of Halloween treats.
The truth is i’m trying to lose these five pounds real quick, so I can gain them all back on Thursday. That’s terrible, I know. I sincerely hope my trainer doesn’t read this. But come Thursday morning, I don’t care what y’all think. I intend to eat all of the things. On Thursday, I will be practicing my favorite improv technique.
Do you want turkey? Yes …and ham.
Mashed potatoes? Yes …and macaroni and cheese.
Greens? Yes… and green beans.
Roll? Yes…and cornbread?
Sweet potato pie? Yes… and pumpkin pie, and cheesecake and 7up cake, and German chocolate cake and whatever else y’all got.
I am thankful for all of it and I intend to partake in all of it.
So if you see me running the stairs on my lunch break or walking laps around the church parking lot, do not worry. I haven’t lost my mind, I’m just gearing up for the big game.
