Speak Saturdays: A Mother’s Love

Last night I had the opportunity to attend the Silas Hunt Awards sponsored by the University of Arkansas. It was so awesome to see the recipients walk across the stage and watch their videos on what inspired them to greatness. One of the highlights of the night was the spoken word given by one of the UA theatre students. I’ve known this young man since he was twelve years old. I am so amazed at the man he has become. His articulation of how the evening’s recipients was moving but the moment that brought tears to my eyes was watching his mother watch him. This young man’s mother recently had a health scare and she is on the road back to recovery. Being out last night may not have been the best decision for her but she preserved. The strength mothers have to support their children is unmatched. I honestly don’t know where it comes from. But experiencing and watching it warms your heart in the best type of way. Take a moment to appreciate you mom. A mother’s love is the best thing a person can receive in this world.

Happy Saturday!
