Yes. That’s Me!

Today there is the “Me Too” movement addressing the sexual harassment issue.  I can thankfully say that I have never been harassed but there have been other things that have come up as I age that makes me pause and say . . . “that’s me.”

Malinda at lunch with Gary on River street 2016While watching the television one afternoon, a commercial addressing arthritis came on and described the symptoms that the medication “supposedly” alleviated.  I heard myself say “that’s me” out loud.  A commercial came on about bladder leaks.  I heard myself say “that’s me.”   An exercise commercial comes on recommending exercise via your mobile phone because our lives are too busy to get that cardio in.  I heard myself yes, “that’s me.”  “Difficulty with your vision?  Know anyone who would benefit from real glasses and not just magnifiers?”  “That’s me.”   “That’s me.”  NO MORE!!!  I don’t want to be in that group.

Arthur Arthritis has been with since high school but I HAVE NEVER LIKED HIM.  Unfortunately, I can’t get rid of him but I can make it harder for him to hang around through rest, food monitoring, and EFFECTIVE exercise.  Yes, as we get older leaks happen when we laugh, sneeze, or wait too long to “go.”  I REFUSE TO TAKE MORE MEDICATION so more breaks will happen.  Do you remember when we were little and our parents told us to try to use the bathroom even if we didn’t have to.  WELL, putting that suggestion back in my book of life and utilizing it.  You can have the APPS and give me the outdoors.  Walking works better for me, albeit inside an air conditioned environment from time to time.  Oh, and as for the eye site, at this point in life, the glasses don’t have to be cute and I don’t care about the bi-focal line.  I JUST WANT TO SEE!!!

My point is, there are groups that we can’t help being a part of and some we are forced into.  Life is too precious to waste and take for granted.  New day, new mercy, new mindset.  Let’s get in the HEALTHIER LIFE GROUP so WE can say “that’s me!”
