Transformative Thursdays: Silence the Noise

I was riding in the car on my way to pick up my oldest daughter and I was suddenly aware of all the noise in the car.  My son was playing a game on his tablet with noise.  The radio was on contributing to the noise.  My daughter began having a conversation about her day.  And it hit me.  There is too much noise.  I can’t concentrate on anything.  I need to turn off the radio, have my son lower his volume and then focus on what my daughter is telling me.

Many times, there is so much noise, chatter, and talk around us that we lose focus of what’s most important.  We lose valuable time trying to do everything but missing the main thing.  We lose sight of our purpose and calling trying to listen and respond to the noise.

Challenge yourself to quiet the noise.  Take a few moments every day to get away from all the noise.  Meditate and refuel your spirit and soul.  You will be more valuable in serving your purpose and more fulfilled once you quiet the noise.

What is the “noise” in your life that needs to be silenced?
