Airport Innovations

So many of us have been in the position of being stuck in an airport due to flight delays. Some airports are better equipped than others to support travelers but honestly no one wants to be in an airport for anything close to a 6 hour delay.

That’s why the entertainment troupe Funkywunks just won the Internet for a day with me for their impromptu performance at DFW. Oh if only their was this kind of entertainment on hand at every airport or at least the ones that tend to have substantial delays. And then it hit me!

Why don’t all airports book entertainers for just this purpose?

This kind of seems like a no brainer and while I know that there are some airports that have small performance areas like Dallas Love Field, I have yet to travel on a day when there were live performers on site.

Now I know that security is a factor and must be taken seriously but if airport employees can be screened for safety, so can airport performers.

This also would create jobs for local creatives who could display their talents. Imagine if you could pay $25 to paint while you wait for a flight and if there should so happen to be a glass of while nearby… 🤷🏾‍♀️.

This also made me think about a recent Nas Daily video about the amazing amenities at an airport in Singapore.

With the cost of travel continuously going up, it sure would be nice to get some customer appreciation that enhanced the time we spend in airports. What do you think?
