Transformative Thursdays: Leap of Faith

I vividly remember making the decision to run my first (and only) marathon.  One day, the thought came to me, that maybe I should give it a try.  My sister had run a couple marathons and told me I should think about it.  I didn’t think much of it at that moment, but one day, that seed she planted into my mind, began to take root.  I meditated on the thought of me running a marathon and made the decision to go for it.  At that time, I was not a runner, so this would be no easy feat.  However, I decided to take a leap of faith.  I took it a step further and registered for the race.  At that point, I was committed because I had paid my fee and was not going to turn back.

After months of training and disciplining myself to run 26.2 miles, I ran my first marathon!  The only thing that separated me from many others who have thought about running it, but have not run the marathon, is the decision I made to take that first step.  That first step is often the hardest.  It may go against the grain of what you are used to or take you outside of your comfort zone.  It may require an amount of money or time that you don’t feel you have to invest.  It may just require a change of routine.  Whatever your “marathon” is, what leap of faith do you need to make today?  What one step can you take that may change your life?  What fear is holding you back from jumping?  What dream or desire do you think about constantly but haven’t done anything with?  It’s time for you to take that leap today.  It’s not a blind leap, because the Lord is with you.  He’s waiting on you to move.  Go for it!
