When I saw this video it made me smile so hard.

I have been on the Will Smith bandwagon since “Girls Ain’t Nothin’ But Trouble” back in 1988 when my family moved from Savannah, Georgia, to Coralville, Iowa, and I figured out how to jimmy my radio antennas to pick up Chicago station signals from over 200 miles away.

What I love most about this video is that it speaks to the point of shaking off fear and going hard for what you want. Don’t get me wrong, there are times when you have time to really deeply study and prepare for an experience. However, I have found that in the course of my life, I have often had to make myself ready when opportunities present themselves.

What if Will had ignored the lesson Quincy Jones was trying to teach him?

What if Will had left that party insisting he needed three weeks to prepare for an audition?

What if we never had “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”?

Opportunity does not always come calling when you are fully prepared and comfortable. Sometimes it meets you when you least expect it. Don’t freeze. 🙅🏾‍♀️🙅🏿‍♂️ Take a deep breath and go for it. There is nothing in the world that grieves me quite like watching people live unfulfilled lives out of fear.
