Transformative Thursdays: De-Cluttering Your Mind

Think about the number of times in a day you are bombarded with other people’s drama, issues, and problems.  Many times, there’s nothing we can do to help them because it’s something they must work through.  Of course, we can be a sounding board, or a voice of encouragement but it’s not ours to fix.  The more time we spend trying to fix others or meditating on how we can help someone the less time we have to focus on our own lives.  Please hear me—I’m not saying we shouldn’t help people or be concerned, but I am saying we can’t afford to become so engrossed in others’ lives that we can’t move forward in our own.

Our minds only have so much space.  We can’t afford to have it cluttered with unnecessary excess.  Your mind needs space to process where you’re going and how you’ll get there.  Your dreams and destiny are not automatic.  They will require that your mind (much like a computer) has the memory available to hold and process information so you can take action.

This week, I was reminded that life is too short to get upset over something that is trivial and has little weight on the end result. It’s best to free your mind and use that space for something more productive.
