One thing my husband and I can agree on is family time. It’s something we absolutely have to make room for. When that value is not being implemented, it will make us re-evaluate everything. That’s just how vital our quality time is.
With spring break being somewhat of a work week, my husband thought it would be a cool idea to take his girls to Jackson for a change of scenery. When we told the kids we were going out of town and staying in a hotel, they were beyond ecstatic; and even though we got an occasional “critique” from the seven-year-old, a great time was had by all. The girls didn’t even realize how frugal our fun was. And man, was it frugal.
It doesn’t take much to give our kids unforgettable experiences. I can’t recall all the tangible things that were bought for me as a child, but I will never forget the time I spent with my family– dancing, laughing, eating, road-tripping, and bonding. When it comes to life’s precious moments, I want to always cherish memories over things.
…That’s just the way the Sibley’s roll. 😎
