It is raining, again. It stopped for a few hours yesterday, but when I woke up this morning I heard that familiar pit-a -pat, the one that makes it so difficult to get out of bed. I love the rain and hate it at the same time. It increases my commute time and makes my hair go crazy, but it also makes every thing look so new.
This got me thinking about the duplicity of water: How it is both life-giving, and life-destroying. It can be refreshing or destructive. It is the thing we are made of and the thing so many of us are afraid of.
Why would heaven create such a thing, this thing that cleanses and sustains, but that can also sully and sabotage.
This month our motley crew of writers will be diving into the deep (and not so deep) theme of Water.
In the meantime, here’s a link to my favorite song of all time. I think it is fitting for today.
