Transformative Thursdays: Keep Your Head Up

Have you ever felt like you were drowning in a sea of regret, failure, unforgiveness, debt or fear?  It seemed like whatever you tried didn’t bring relief and you continued to feel like you were drowning.  The Bible encourages us to “look to the hills from whence cometh our help…” (Psalm 121:1). This lets us know that we are not alone when we face trials or situations that make us feel as though we are drowning.  Secondly, it tells us that there is a power greater than us that helps us.  We are not supposed to shield the weight of extreme burdens.  We are given a helper–the Holy Spirit–to lead and guide us into the truth.  Thirdly, our help continues to come if we continue to look towards the hills.  The hills represent the Lord and His mighty power to save and rescue us from drowning.  Finally, if we keep moving forward, the help is always there and leads us to a greater place.  So next time you feel like you are drowning, keep your head up and know that your help is near.  Look to the Lord to rescue you and sustain you!
