Calvary.
It is the place where grace
Met my sin-stained face
And erased all of my shame and misery.
It’s where the blood ran down.
I can still feel it now,
And it changed me completely forever.
Calvary
Is where He saw me
And I saw Him
And He spoke with such love
Even when I was the reason why
He cried out from the pain.
What did He have to gain?
He had to come and “lose”
In order that we might win
The right to choose Him over every earthly whim.
And still!
Still
I’m sometimes like Peter,
Cause before the cock crows
I’m hiding my faith in baskets
Because I can’t it be known
What I stand for, and who I’m reppin..
Even while I see the cat of nine tails across His chest.
Yet Calvary
Is not some magical space,
Or some mythical place
It had to be there
Where man met the Cross.
Where sin met the Savior
And where my past found it’s FUTURE!
Calvary
is where I shout GLORY
HALLELUJAH
ALL PRAISES TO YOU
CAUSE IT”S ONLY THROUGH YOU
THAT I KNOW THIS NEWNESS.
All of my mess forgiven
For He died, and now is arisen
Providing that welcome shock to my
Originally fallen system.
Calvary
is where love rained.
It eliminated the stain and stench
Of shame and
Drenched us in a new white robe.
His brokenness made us whole.
And redeemed,
Restored my soul.
I thank you, Abba, for
Calvary.
