As I prepared to write this article, I found myself staring at the screen. 5 minutes passed by. I had a few random thoughts but nothing seemed worthy of writing. And then, I began. I typed these words. I’m reminded of how our lives can be like this experience. It seems as if we’re staring at our lives–waiting on something magical to happen. We find ourselves with seemingly nothing of value to contribute to society, our jobs, our friends, our families. And then, just that quickly, we begin to write…to move…to act on a fleeting idea or a simple notion that turns into something much grander. Suddenly, the magic happens and we’ve created something of value.
God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. At first it seems impossible or as if we have nothing to give. But once we start moving, the masterpiece is set in motion. With each step, we add a brushstroke until we begin to make sense of the picture.
The hardest step is the first step. Don’t wait any longer for perfection or to see the full picture. Just start where you are with what you have and create your masterpiece.
