This post will be short in nature but I am grateful for situation that bought along my thought process. Tough decisions are made in leadership roles. Your decisions can cause you to become the unlike person and it will happen often when tough decisions are being made back to back. We had a “stinky” situation come up on the job and the outcome left some people feeling uncomfortable. As the situation was being assessed this thought came to my mind:

I’m glad I can be assertive in the correct situations. Many people offer shy away from this trait because they do not want to cause trouble or feel as though people will no longer like them because of their assertiveness. Being assertive to me corresponds to confidence. You have to be confident in your knowledge of things in order to be assertive to make tough decisions.
