We’ve all taken these quizzes that pop up in our timelines. I have noticed that there seems to be a dirth of quizzes that celebrate African cultures. Then it hit me. If the people who are descendants of Africa don’t create these types of resources and tools why should we expect someone else to do it for us with authenticity and fidelity? 

I want young black girls and boys to know about the royal families of Africa. I want them to know about the leaders, the healers, the innovators, the explorers that stretch back to the beginning of time and look just like them. I want grown folks to know their history as well and feel pride in being descended of strong, intelligent and passionate lineages

So let this quiz be a small drop in an ever growing ocean of exploration into who we are and perhaps it will help us with where we are going.
