I am the shopper who plans ahead. I begin shopping in July and continue at my leisure to make small purchases here and there so when the “holiday madness” that brings about “holiday stress” comes around, I can just sit back and watch the show from my comfy couch.
I am the shopper who hates the crowds so I shop online from the comfort of my own home. I search the net starting in June for those specials with free shipping. No crazy long lines for me. Just nice hot cider, a warm fire, and Johnny Mathis taking me away like Calgone.
I am the shopper that seems to unravel at every turn no matter how far in advance I plan. I am juggling who gets paid to buy presents for my kids. I know that I am out of my medications but I just have to get that new electronic thing for my kids so that they will be occupied while I work to make ends meet. Yep, nothing like an electronic babysitter.
I am the shopper in line at the YMCA waiting for my number to be called so I can make my selection of toys for my children for Christmas. I am the one who is so grateful that someone understands my struggles and cares enough to sacrifice and include me in their Christmas budget. I am the one who is so grateful for the meal that we will receive on Christmas day. Now, I hope that the job comes through so I can pay it forward.
Whoever you are during this holiday season, don’t forget why this holiday season exists. HE is the reason for this season. He was born. He died. He got up. Because of this, I move and live and have my being. LEST WE FORGET!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Kudos……I’m the shopper that needs to go into Walmart today.
