‘Tis the season for that sort of thing, right?
Because I surely could use one right now
I knew it would be a bit of a rough week when I caught myself using a swear word at church. I don’t make a habit of cursing at church, but I ain’t above it, either. So as service started, i already knew that this week would be a challenge for me.
Yesterday was Monday. Enough said.
Today I was productive at work, but not necessarily in a way that would be measurable to my superiors. And I was completely unproductive at home. There were more swear words.
So now it’s late Tuesday night. I have attempted to publish a blog at least 3 times. (Insert swear words here.) There are not enough hours left in the day to complete half the things that are still on my schedule. And my kids are avoiding the bathtub like it’s the plague.
But I’m looking for miracles. Instead of griping about the gremlins on my phone who ate my first few blog attempts, i’m choosing to believe that heaven didn’t want you all to read my previous posts. They were pretty depressing.
And in this season of miracles, none of us really need to be reminded of the failures of humanity. We see those up close and personal every day,
But all of us need to be reminded that every now and then, heaven steps in to the human experience, and changes the natural order of things. It doesn’t always look like menorahs, and mangers and prophets named Muhammad. Sometimes miracles look like kids putting on their pajamas without a fight, or getting one more chore done before bed time. Sometimes miracles look like going to church or posting a blog without cursing,
i looked for miracles and I found them everywhere. i pray the same for you.
