Therapeutic Tuesday:Quick Encouragement

It was Lao Tzu who said, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” I would like to take that just a step further and lace his quote with a couple from Mark Batterson’s book, Chase the Lion.

In the book he says two things that I believe are important for us to remember.

  1. Focus on the first step.
  2. Win the Day.

As a dreamer, I often find myself caught up in the hows and whys of things so far down the line that I never take the first step on the journey. Paralysis by analysis, I believe it is called. In this next year, whether it be weight loss, story writing, guitar practice, I have to narrow my focus. If I can just win the day, and do what I need to do in that day that will help me along my journey. then I will get there at some point.

For your life, what does focusing on the first step look like?

What does winning the day look like?

If you can visualize it, nothing can stop you from achieving it. Go do it!
