Living in Savannah, Georgia, one knows that preparation is necessary. We live below sea level and flooding is a normal thing. When the wind blows, the power goes out. When the tide is high, the water covers the road. When a tornado is in the area, we make sure that we have a solid room or closet to stay in. Preparation is a major part of life.
I selected the quote by Malcolm X, “The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.” We were warned weeks ago about Hurricaine Matthew and that it was going to be a life altering event. Needless to say, it has devastated Haiti, Cuba, and Daytona, Florida. It is heading to Georgia and South Carolina. We prepared for the possibility of being required to evacuate. We left early and still ran into heavy traffic. Even if you run into obstacles, don’t stop preparing. We were not going to be deterred from seeking safer surroundings. PREPARATION IS A PROCESS! Nothing will happen quickly. Education prepares us for greater opportunities. Preparing for natural disasters is a process so when the disaster occurs, you will already have what you need to endure and to overcome.
Prepare for that better career. Prepare for that family. Prepare for that spouse. Prepare for that home of your dreams. Prepare! Prepare! Prepare!.
Have a safe Funkadelic Friday!
