Transformative Thursdays: Starting Over

Do you ever feel like you need a do over? Maybe you woke up late, didn’t have time for your morning coffee, took an extra 15 minutes to get to work because of heavy traffic and then discovered you used the wrong data for the report you have been working on for two weeks AND it’s due today. Can I get a do over? Or maybe you had a good career for 15 years but decided it was time for a change and you’d rather take your chances doing something you love. Maybe your do over moment was learning from some parenting mistakes with your first child and becoming an awesome parent to your second child.  Whatever the case, we all have moments and seasons we’d like to do over.

Fortunately, we serve a God who is the God of second chances and fresh starts. He is not surprised by our selfish desires or poor choices but continues to love us in spite of ourselves. He gives us chance after chance and fully expects us to get up from each fall and begin again.  No doubt, He is our biggest cheerleader.

If you’re having a do over kind-of day or are in a “funky need a fresh start beginning”, today is your day! All you have to do, is push the “reset” button and start over. God promises to redeem the time and we can move forward. Don’t wallow in self-pity, remorse, anger or bitterness.  Just hit reset and start over.
