Hmmmm I don’t know how I feel about the mainland’s end of daylight savings time (which we don’t observe btw)…
Benefits:
1. I can go to church at 10, grab some groceries & still get home early enough to catch the first quarter of the early games.
2. My body doesn’t have to adjust to time changes. I was already getting adjusted to darkness at 6pm so that doesn’t change.
Cons:
1. I can forget about evening shows and football games! It was already a stretch for me to stay awake until halftime of the night games, but now I probably won’t even make it to the end of the 1st quarter…who am I kidding…I probably won’t make kickoff!
2. I’m now 1 or 2 hours ahead of most of my family and friends. Most of them are not up when I’m awake, or still at work when I’m off, and I’m asleep when they’re free. This makes for a tough time and some personal sacrifices to arrange schedules across time zones.
Do you like this time change? What are the benefits and/or cons for you?
Saving time,

Reading this made me want to run outside and yell at the top of my lungs “FALL BACK FOR WHAT!?!?” My transition has been rougher this year than I can remember in the recent past. I suppose I’m processing a lot of other change in my life right now on top of moving my clock.
I think about time and how I use it each day a lot more now. I too have #timezoneproblems with family and friends stretched literally across the globe and it is frustrating what damage time and distance can do to relationships that I treasure. It really ate me up inside this week not to be in LA for the birth of my niece. Having to rely on other peoples pictures and desperately wanting to FaceTime so I can say hi but realizing that is selfish and I need to let those on the ground get adjusted first. (Sigh) There’s really nothing to be done about it though except to do what I can and forgive myself for not being omnipresent in the lives of my loved ones.
