TITLE: CLEAN YOUR ROOM HARVEY MOON

AUTHOR:  PATRICIA CUMMINGS

DESCRIPTION:

My second read treat is a comical rhyming adventure with a great message about responsibility for young readers. Harvey is all set to enjoy a fantastic day of cartoon watching when Mom declares that his time would be better spent bringing order to his mess of a bedroom. The action revolves around Harvey’s frantic attempt to satisfy his Mom’s demands without sacrificing his favorite Saturday pastime. You and your young listeners will howl with delight as Harvey learns an important lesson about setting the right priorities!

WHY I LIKE THIS BOOK:

Pat Cummings has been a favorite author of mine for years due to her incredible gift of story telling through fun-filled wording and luscious illustrations. Her depictions of Harvey’s delightful story are nothing less than candy for the eyes and ears where objects come to life with such energy they appear to leap off the page.  The power of rhyme is clearly evident with words that tickle the tongue. The lyrical patterns and delightful graphics will have your young readers telling the story right along with you and picking up new vocabulary in no time. Another value is the opportunity to teach an important lesson about responsibility in a way that is developmentally appropriate and fun! Find this “read treat” at your local library or pick up a paperback copy to add to your child’s collection. You’ll be glad you did!

*Great value in paper back. Also available in audio cassette.
